1973
Sweden’s first heat pump with integrated hot water tank is developed by Thermia in 1973 as a result of a collaboration project.
1977
Major concentration on national coverage with a network of retailers started in 1977. That year 14 retailers were recruited.
Thermia school training for retailers starts in 1977. No one is permitted to be a retailer for us without first having documented product knowledge. All for your security as a buyer.
1980
Revolutionary heat exchange development with significantly increased heat transfer and reduced amounts of refrigerant. The latter, a benefit from an environmental point of view. The result of the project was presented in 1980 and one of the leading people behind the innovation was Thermia’s then head of development, Professor Erik Granryd.
1984
Control computer for fully automatic control of the heat pump, hot water and additional heater is introduced to the Thermia range in 1984.
1993
The first heat pump with all the units gathered in a common module was presented by Thermia in 1993. Heating, hot water, electrical heating element and control computer were combined in a practical and space saving »package», which only took up 60 x 60 cm of floor area.
1994
Scroll compressor with high efficiency , great reliability and low noise level is launched by Thermia in 1994.
2000
Remote control/monitoring of the heat pump became possible in 2000. The foundation was laid for the Internet service that today is called Thermia Online .
2002
The first heat pump adapted scroll compressor, which gives significantly higher annual efficiency, introduced by Thermia in 2002.
2004
TWS technology, which gives the first heat pump adapted hot water tank with the market’s best hot water production was presented by Thermia in 2004. The technology is based on more economic water heating in layers.
2005
The first rock heat pump with speed (rpm) control, which adjusts the operation according to the prevailing heating requirements, second by second. Thermia Diplomat Optimum was introduced in 2005.
The first air/water heat pump Thermia Atria which operates efficiently even at temperatures down to –20 degrees C.
2007
The Thermia museum in Arvika opens. Boilers, ovens and wood-fired water heaters from the last century together with modern heat pumps are gathered in the same premises that Thermia occupied between 1923 and 1968.
2007
The R&D Center for heat pumps in Arvika opened by the Swedish prince Carl Philip. The center develops heat pumps that cover everything from tropical to arctic climates, which means that Thermia can satisfy the world´s requirements.
2008
Thermia revolutionizes the heat pump market again - now with Thermia Diplomat Optimum G2 with HGW technology; the new technology for water heating. |
